Topcon expands machine control team to meet demand
Following the growing demand for machine control systems across the UK, Topcon GB has expanded its team with a key hire in the form of business development manager, Melanie Burch.
Melanie joins Topcon with over ten years’ experience in the construction industry across several sectors including commercial, housing and leisure. After a move from financial services, Melanie started her construction career at Hilti as an account manager in 2006, helping contractors with tool training and installation solutions. Melanie spent seven years with the company in a number of sales-focused roles before deciding to train as a housing surveyor, completing an NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Home Inspection.
Melanie joined the Topcon team in August this year and has hit the ground running helping civil engineering and construction contractors increase on-site productivity with machine control technology.
Commenting on her new role, Melanie said: “I’m really enjoying being back on building sites again and getting stuck in with big plant projects. In my previous positions I was focused more on the surveying side and spent a lot of my time dealing with framework agreements. My new role has given me the chance to get involved right from the start of a project and work with contractors literally from the ground up!”
