The fences object reads AutoCAD polylines, arcs, circles, ellipses, and splines. A fence is a vertical thin wall along the polyline.
Parameters
• layer
Layer where fence polylines or lines are.
• materials
Material of the fence.
• description
A descriptive text for the entry. If defined, it will be shown instead of the long description.
• info text
Information text attached to items.
• info URL
URL link attached to items. MAGNET Explorer can launch a web browser with the URL.
• object data tables
These are Autodesk Map object data tables that will be used for source of object information for the elements in the virtual model. The table list also matches wildcards.
• height
Height of the fence.
• texwidth
Length of the texture image along the fence polyline. This value is multiplied by the defaultwidth value for the concerned fence material. (The easiest way to define the texture length is to set the default width in material to 1.0 and then adjust this value only.)
• interpolation_mode
- top = The fence stretches from the ground. The top of the fence is set to the polyline elevation.
- bottom = Fence height is read from the height parameter (default setting).
• interpolate_to_materials
In case of multiple materials on top of each other, defines the material that these items will be interpolated on.
• interpolate_to_layers
Select those layers that will be used to raise your component. For example, if you use LandXML as a reference or Civil 3D surface as a reference, you generate layers for those references and then select that layer into this box.
• position_offset
After interpolation, moves the fence location relative to the polyline according to given transformation parameters (X,Y,Z).
• ending_mode
Options are none, start, end, and both. Decide whether to apply a fancy ending (interpolation and offset) to either end of the fence.
• ending_interpolate
Options are normal and ground. If set to ground, the top of the last pole is at ground level.
• ending_distance
How long the ending is. A new vertex is inserted at ending_distance from the end of the fence, and all vertices between it and the end are removed. If ending_distance = 0, the ending length = last segment length.
• ending_offset
Distance to offset the last point from the fence's last segment direction (negative = left from fence, positive = right from fence).
• z_rotation
Angle = Rotates the resulting object’s z-axis. With this parameter, objects can be rotated so that they are not pointing upward. Setting this to 90 will result in objects that are horizontal.
• texture_autofit
Automatically adjusts the texture on to the element.
• group
The name of the group of these items.
• auto_segmentation_distance
Divides the original polyline with this distance and adds new points. This parameter is useful for better control of following surface and long arc segments.
• auto_segmentation_angle
Divides polylines using an angle threshold so that the resulting polyline will fall within this angle value. This only affects curved polyline segments like splines and arcs.
