Congressman Swalwell visits Topcon, discusses job creation and infrastructure renewal

LIVERMORE, Calif. – January 18, 2018 – Topcon Positioning Group, a world leader in positioning instruments for survey and construction, hosted Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) recently, discussing job growth in the Tri-Valley region and how digital technology and automation can address productivity and efficiency concerns to rebuild U.S. infrastructure projects.

Swalwell toured the Topcon manufacturing facilities and spoke with Ray O’Connor, Topcon Positioning Group president and CEO, about opportunities in U.S. infrastructure planning.

This reality has prompted government directives in countries such as Japan, the United Kingdom and Germany to incorporate smart technology in infrastructure projects. The U.S. needs a long-term plan to not only rebuild its infrastructure, but also keep it sustainable and highly rated,” said O’Connor.
