FC-5000: Taking Screen Shots

Besides connecting a USB keyboard to use the hardware Print Screen button, there are other methods available to take a screen shot on the FC-5000.

The FC-5000 includes a Keypad settings utility which lets you re-assign the bottom "P" keys to other functions, including the following:

  1. Take a screen capture (same as Windows + Print Screen hotkey) – Saves a copy of the screen to a file in the Screenshots folder within the Pictures folder.
  2. Copy screen to clipboard (same as Print Screen hotkey) – Full screen is stored in the clipboard so you can paste it into an application like Microsoft Word or Paint.
  3. Copy current window to clipboard (same as Alt + Print Screen hotkey) – Screenshot of active window is stored in the clipboard so you can paste it into an application like word or paint.

Alternatively, you could connect to and take screen shots using remote viewing utilities such as TeamViewer, GoToMeeting, or similar. Or you could even record videos such as to create a tutorial using a tool such a Blueberry FlashBack.

Advanced:

A technical method (mainly for testing) to automatically take screen shots every so often or at certain events is to use a scripting tool such as AutoHotKey along with a tool such as iview32.exe to run a script and capture the display image whenever desired without needing user input.
