TOPCON TESTS FLYING SKILLS AT EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW

Last month marked the 10th annual Executive Hire Show, the national exhibition for the tools, equipment and plant hire industry. Bringing together manufacturers, dealers and hirers from across the UK and Ireland, it attracted nearly 2,500 attendees this year.

The Topcon stand was jam-packed with the latest surveying equipment for the construction industry, and we also challenged visitors to test their flying skills using a Falcon 8 simulator.

The Falcon 8 is the most recent unmanned aerial system (UAS) to join our range of mass data and volume collection products. With its rotary-wing system and robust design, the UAS can take off and land in almost any location and is fully operational in extreme weather conditions. Using the Falcon 8 simulator, guests were able to see for themselves just how easy it is to fly a UAS in all manner of conditions.

Alongside the Falcon 8 was our newly launched compact digital sensor, the LS-100D. The LS-100D has been designed to make it much easier and faster for operators working on earth moving machines such as excavators or dozers.

Featuring an extra-wide beam sensor and a large LCD display, the new receiver gives the driver nine different types of grade information meaning they can increase productivity and achieve accurate results every time.

Additional products on show included the DS-200i - a one-person operational robotic total station with XPointing prism acquisition technology - and the RL-H4C – a dual grade laser that’s built to work in all conditions with a tough IP66 weather rating.
