MAGNET Office: Manual road entry (part 1 of 4) - Horizontal alignment

Accessing the manual roads module

With a MAGNET Office project open:

  1. Navigate to Design > Create Alignment from IPs.
  2. Click the down arrow to open the menu.
  3. Select Manual Road Entry.

A dialog box will appear.

Click New. This will open the manual road entry as a new tab.

Note: If an alignment already exists, this can be opened from the list.

Manual road entry interface

With the manual road entry tab open, the user is presented with effectively an empty spreadsheet on the left and empty graphics windows on the right and bottom.

The first step is to customize the spreadsheet for the data you have.

To do this, right-click in the spreadsheet view, as shown in the image.

Configuring for data entry

Click Configure, and the Configuration dialog box appears.

Select the type of information you have, and sequence it in the order you want to enter it.

Entering data into the alignment tab

With the alignment tab configured, enter the data.

As the data is entered, the graphic on the right will update.

Once you have entered all the horizontal geometry, you are ready to enter the vertical geometry.
